Mumbai,19th August (Sachin murdeshwar) Synopsis:In a small town of Gujarat, lives a young bright eyed man named Vijay. His family is typical middle class family, with just the money to meet day to day needs. Vijay’s father has saved some money by working hard for his wife’s operation.

Vijay has an uncle, who lives in USA. This is the reason, his family is hopeful of finding a bride or any chance to send Vijay to USA. But Vijay is determined to stay in India. One of the main reasons being his love affair with neighbour Gauri, who is not only beautiful but good mannered and educated just like Vijay.

It so happens that the uncle from USA plans to visit India. And for providing them with all the facilities they are used to and give them grand welcome, Vijay’s father spends almost all of his savings and this upsets Vijay. He does not understand why his father was not ready to spend money on his higher education or how is he going to get his mother’s operation done?! Because when he has spent all money to impress the foreigners, there will be nothing left.
Then the uncle and aunty arrive in the town like some celebrity. This aunt of Vijay has her own agenda. Her sister’s daughter (niece) has been dumped by a man in USA, and they are finding it difficult to get her married. So when she learns of Vijay’s family’s desire to send him overseas, she plans to oblige them by offering him, her spoilt niece’s hand.

At the same time Gauri’s mother, aware of the blossoming relation between her daughter and Vijay, asks Gauri’s father to go and put forward the marriage proposal while Vijay’s uncle is in the town... But when he does that, he faces the rude aunt who tells him that Vijay is well educated and he is to be marrying a beautiful foreign girl and their daughter is not worthy of having such a nice husband. Fuming with rage on his insult Gauri’s father promised them that within a month he will get Gauri married into a much better and richer family living in foreign!
Vijay and Gauri unsuccessfully try to convince their respective families. They are helpless. And in a couple of weeks Gauri’s father finds a boy from Australia and within no time Gauri gets married to a rich guy and leaves for Sydney.

Once in Sydney she realises that her husband is a womaniser and drug addict. His parents knew about it, but got him married in an attempt to try and get him back on road. They thought, after marriage he will change, but that was not to happen. Gauri is living her life in hell. She doesn’t have any sympathy from her in-laws. They think Gauri is lucky to be in a foreign land. The only person, who feels all this is wrong, is Gauri’s sister-in-law (Meera). But she doesn’t have any say in the social issues of her house.
And one day Gauri discovers her husband is suffering from AIDS. And it was in the late stage. Soon he passes away…..living everyone shocked. Gauri requests her in-laws to send her back to her parents, but they were more worried about losing a free housemaid and about the shame it would bring on the family name if the nature of their son’s death is discovered by their relatives in India. Gauri is forbidden to make any contact with outside world.

One day Gauri gets time alone with Meera, who is happy to post a letter to Gauri’s parents. When Gauri’s parents receive the letter, they are shell-shocked and don’t know what to do about it. They don’t have any address or contact details for Gauri. Gauri’s sister secretly tells Vijay about Gauri. Until then disillusioned by his fate, Vijay finds a purpose in his life. He decides to go to Australia and get Gauri out of the hell by any means. After working hard to arrange the finance and to get visa for Australia, he finally sets out to help the love of his life.

But the road ahead is tough for Vijay. It is full of uncertainties. The only clue Vijay has to fulfill his mission is Gauri’s father-in-law’s name. But he is determined and decides to soldier on.
He starts working at a local restaurant to meet with living expenses. He studies and works. But his mind is constantly thinking of ways to find out Gauri. On one of the catering services, his restaurant was providing, he meets a beautiful and arrogant girl (Meera) of Indian origin. Meera calls him names and insults him in the party. But, on one occasion she gets rescued by Vijay and she realizes that Vijay is a good boy. She apologizes for her misbehavior. And slowly she falls in love with this quiet, handsome and good mannered guy.
One day, Meera invites Vijay to her birthday party, but he refuses, citing work problems, but his real reason is to avoid any distraction on the way to his goal. Meera has always been a person who will get what she wants by hook or crook. She arranges for catering to be provided by Vijay’s employer and ensures that Vijay will be working there. Now when Vijay goes to Meera’s home he sees Gauri and is thankful to God that He finally led him to where he wanted to go. He finds a quiet moment and talks to Gauri and explains to her how and why he is there. All these is seen and overheard by Meera. Initially she is shocked, but then she realizes and understands the deep love that Gauri and Vijay share. She decides to help them.
Meera helps Gauri and Vijay to elope. Vijay takes Gauri back to her parents’ home. Gauri’s parent then apologizes for behaving so rudely earlier and offers him to accept Gauri as his life partner. At last, Gauri and Vijay get together and live happily.
