SAB TV Launches Waah Waah Kyaa Baat Hai
Mumbai, September 10th , 2012(Sachin Murdeshwar): Poetry to most represents an esoteric expression of literature that tends towards the romantic, passionate and often melancholic reflections on life. But when this rare art form is used for humour, it inspires not just laughter, but awestruck laughter.
Simply because this is not mere humour; it is humour as an intricate art form. The genre of Hasya-Kavita, increasingly rare with passing generations now finds a grand revival on SAB TV with Waah Waah Kyaa Baat Hai.It has a fascinating concept, wherein noted poets participate and share some of their work on a common platform that revives the flavour of comedy through poetry and lets the audience relish the taste of some rich language and emotions presented in the show. Each new episode will have a new group of established poets accompanied by their families, playing with words to their hearts’ content. The topics chosen for each episode will be relatable with ample scope for comedy.
But that’s not all! The channel has gone ahead and taken a step further, featuring the common man on the show. Believing that poetry is innate and there is a poet in all of us, SAB TV will invite a common man, anyone from a grocery vendor to someone in a corporate job, to narrate something that they have written.
Commenting on the launch Mr. Anooj Kapoor, EVP & Business Head – SAB TV said, ‘It’s an hour long show for the weekend. So the new trend on the channel is that it’s not just your weekdays but also your weekends that will be full of humour and laughter. Hasya-kavita is SAB TV’s new approach to comedy and its uniqueness will definitely appeal to the audience.
Like all SAB TV shows, this too is a light-hearted presentation for the entire family to enjoy and its packaging is contemporary, massy and entertaining.
To add even greater charm, we have two famous SAB TV stars as the show hosts, Shailesh Lodha and Neha Mehta. Shailesh Lodha of ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’ fame, who is a poet himself, will be conducting the show. Shailesh Lodha himself has written four books on poetry in varied genres of humour and satire.
A host so well versed in the field himself is obviously a great asset for a show like this one. He will not only be seen curating the show but also contributing to every episode with his poetry and insights on the offerings of other poets.
Complementing him as a host on the show is Neha Mehta, who incidentally, plays his on screen wife in the show ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’. The duo is already a popular couple on screen and their partnership in this new show promises to be delightful. Neha Mehta, even before Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah happened, was a well recognised face on TV, having done numerous TV shows and commercials, and also in recent times as a show host.
A power packed duo in a poetry-packed show with stellar content, the combination seems to offer endless potential. We, like the nation, can’t wait to watch the first episode of this hour-long weekly show, only on SAB TV. Watch Waah Waah Kyaa Baat Hai from September 15th every Saturday at 10 pm exclusively on SAB TV.
