Shoolini University launches virtual classrooms


MUMBAI, MARCH 20, 2020 (HPN):  Himachal-based Shoolini University has taken a pioneering and innovative step in introducing e-classes and online learning for students in the wake of coronavirus outbreak.
Lectures would be delivered through a special platform developed by faculty and students of the University through the Internet. The students would be able to attend the delivery of the live lecture through virtual classroom. They would also be able to ask questions and get answers in real time.

“We have introduced the system to protect the semester and ensure that the students do not suffer from postponed examinations and delayed graduation”, said Pro Vice Chancellor Prof Atul Khosla.
“All lectures will now happen as per the scheduled time table, albeit in virtual space. We shall ensure that not a single day of study should be lost and students should graduate on time”, he added.
Fortunately, Shoolini University researchers had been working on the online learning system for the last six months which was an extension of the e-Univ system already enforced in the University. Under the e-Univ system, lectures are recorded in a capsule form which can be accessed by students any time. The live lectures introduced now would be recorded and would also be available for the students later.
Prof Khosla said the new system would enable the students to interact with the lecturer who can make use of other technological tools such as graphs and power point presentations. The system includes provision for conducting examinations in a secure environment, he added. ENDS

Indian-origin-businessman Vivek Salgaocar joins World Economic Forum’s celebrated Forum of Young Global Leaders


MUMBAI, 19th MARCH 2020 (HPN): Thirty-three-year-old Indian-origin businessman, Mr.  Vivek Salgaocar has joined the coveted list of Forum of Young Global Leaders Class of 2020. Despite being part of a large, family-owned conglomerate with a rich heritage in several industries, Salgaocar is creating his own legacy by actively working towards, and supporting the creation and commercialisation of innovative technologies for the mining and natural resources industries in a sustainable and socially responsible way.
Forum of Young Global Leaders Class of 2020 was started in 2004 by the World Economic Forum (WEF) founder Klaus Schwab. Alongside Salgaocar, 113 other activists, academics, and political leaders from 51 countries also join the list. Speaking on the news of joining the forum, Mr Salgaocar, Director, Vimson Group, said “It’s a tremendous honour to be included among such an illustrious global community of young leaders. The group reflects a confluence of industry, policy, and advocacy that will go a long way in making the world a more liveable place” Vimson Group is a family-owned enterprise with interests in mineral resources, real estate and financial services. The group is also actively involved in community initiatives in healthcare and sports. “The program will greatly aid my quest to improve operating efficiencies through innovation in what’s often seen as a traditional industry with low technological penetration,” he added.
Mr Salgaocar will join the new class in a five-year programme, from March 2020. The programme will have executive education courses, expeditions and opportunities to engage experienced people. The Forum of Young Global Leaders has over the years grown into membership of more than 1,300 members and alumni. The YGL program has been aligned with the World Economic Forum’s mission to spur public-private cooperation to demonstrate entrepreneurship in the global public interest. The forum now represents more than 100 nationalities. It firmly believe that the urgent problems of contemporary times present an opportunity to forge a better future across sectors, generations and borders.

रिलायन्स रिटेलचे बबलू मंडल, टीबीझेडचे मनीष शर्मा आणि स्टार बाजारचे सलीम पटनाकर यांना अनुक्रमे अखंडता, बिइंग ह्युमन आणि पर्सन विथ डिसॅबिलिटीसाठी पुरस्कार देण्यात आले. भाषणाच्या अखेरीस ट्रॅनचे संस्थापक बी.एस. नागेश यांनी उपस्थित सर्वांचे उत्तम श्रोत्याची भूमिका पार पाडल्याबद्दल आभार मानले. रिटेल उद्योगातील नेत्यांच्या पुढील पिढीला मदत केल्याबद्दल त्यांनी उपस्थितांचे आभार मानले.

मुंबई, २ मार्च २०२०:- जॉन्सन ‘स्कुल ऑफ जेंटल’ ने मातांनी आपल्या बाळाच्या संगोपणासह बाळाच्या आरोग्याची काळजी कशी घ्यावी. यासाठी जॉन्सन अँड जॉन्सन पुढाकार घेतला असून याअंतर्गत मुंबईत ‘स्कुल ऑफ जेंटल’ द्वारे ‘बाळाचे आरोग्यावर प्रशिक्षण’ या विषयावर आधारित मार्गदर्शन शिबिराचे आयोजन करण्यात आले होते. यात मुंबईतील प्रमुख बालरोगतज्ञ् प्रवक्ते म्हणून उपस्थित होते. यांनी जॉन्सनचे बेबी केअर उत्पादन बाळाच्या स्किन साठी कशा प्रकारे वापरले पाहिजेत ज्याचा बाळाच्या त्वचेला फायदा होईल ह्याचे प्रात्यक्षित तद्यांनी करून दाखविले. आपल्या बाळाचे आरोग्य निरोगी कसे ठेवता येईल यावर मार्गदर्शन केले. त्याचसोबत महिलांना प्रात्याक्षिक करून दाखविले यावेळी देशभरातून १०० हुन अधिक ब्लॉगर्स माता आपल्या बाळासह उपस्थित होत्या.
